Meet Kate
Kate DePetro is originally from East Greenwich, Rhode Island, and now calls New York City home. She graduated magna cum laude from Hofstra University with a degree in communications and works in News Media.
Growing up, Sundays always started the same way. Kate and her family would attend Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Church before heading to Dunkin' or Jigger's Diner for breakfast. It became a tradition she looked forward to every week—not just because of the coffee or pancakes, but because it felt like the entire town was there. Friends, neighbors, and familiar faces would stop to say hello, catch up, and make Sunday mornings feel like home.
After college, Kate moved to New York City knowing very few people. While she loved the excitement and endless opportunities the city had to offer, she missed the small-town sense of community she grew up with. As she met more young adults, she realized she wasn't alone. Many people were looking for genuine friendships and a place where they felt they belonged.
That realization sparked a simple idea: what if people gathered over dinner before Mass, just like families gathered over breakfast after church back home? Alongside Anthony Gross, Kate co-founded Pizza to Pews, a movement that brings young adults together to share a meal, meet new people, and build community before heading to church. What began as a small gathering has grown into a movement reaching hundreds of young adults and expanding to cities across the country.
Working in national news has given Kate a front-row seat to history. Along the way, she's had the opportunity to meet presidents, world leaders, athletes, entertainers, and some of the country's most respected journalists—but she considers the mentors, friendships, and lessons she's gained along the way to be the most meaningful part of her career.
Outside of work, Kate is happiest by the ocean, whether she's spending time at the Jersey Shore or visiting the beaches back home in Rhode Island. She's a lifelong New England Patriots fan, loves Italian food, and never passes up a walk along the West Side Highway at sunset. Her favorite movie is Legally Blonde, and her favorite coffee shop is Blackstone Coffee Roasters.
Above all, Kate believes the best memories are made around a table—where strangers become friends, stories are shared, and community begins.
Meet Anthony
Anthony Gross is originally from New Berlin, Wisconsin, and now lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, where he studied Economics and was a member of the university's NCAA Division III baseball team. Growing up, baseball played a major role in Anthony's life, teaching him the value of discipline, perseverance, and building strong relationships.
After graduating from college, Anthony moved to New York City and accepted a traditional corporate job. Just eight months later, he made the difficult decision to leave and pursue content creation full-time, believing there was a greater opportunity to tell stories and connect with people in a meaningful way.
In New York, Anthony launched his "Day in Their Life" series, a social media project that gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the people who make New York City what it is. From entrepreneurs and business leaders to first responders, creators, restaurant owners, and everyday New Yorkers, Anthony's interviews highlighted the unique stories and careers that often go unnoticed. The series quickly resonated with audiences and helped grow a community centered around curiosity, storytelling, and authentic conversations.
Today, Anthony works in media with Valuetainment and VT GenZ, where he creates content focused on entrepreneurship, business, and personal development. Alongside Kate DePetro, he co-founded Pizza to Pews, a movement bringing young adults together through community and conversation before Mass.
Outside of work, Anthony enjoys meeting new people, exploring new cities, staying active, and discovering the stories that connect us. Whether he's behind a camera, hosting a conversation, or building community, he believes some of life's greatest opportunities begin with simply asking someone to share their story.
